13.59 Million Taxpayers File 2025 Annual Tax Returns

The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) has officially recorded a total of 13,593,754 annual Income Tax (PPh) returns filed for the 2025 tax year. This milestone was reached as of midnight on May 31, 2026.

Inge Diana Rismawanti, Director of Counseling, Services, and Public Relations at the DJP, confirmed in a written statement on Monday, June 1, 2026, that the bulk of these filings were submitted by individual employees. “The total number of taxpayers who successfully submitted their annual tax returns reached 13,593,754,” Inge stated.

Breaking down these figures, the majority—10,962,917 returns—came from individual employees, while 1,504,209 were filed by non-employee individual taxpayers. Regarding corporate taxpayers, the DJP recorded 1,079,466 filings in Indonesian Rupiah and 1,724 filings denominated in US Dollars.

Specific sectors also contributed to the overall data, with the oil and gas industry accounting for 17 filings in Rupiah and 270 in US Dollars. Furthermore, for taxpayers operating on a non-calendar fiscal year, which began on August 1, 2025, the DJP processed 45,108 corporate filings in Rupiah and 43 in US Dollars.

Beyond the volume of tax returns, the DJP also highlighted significant progress in the adoption of the Coretax system. By the end of May 2026, the number of taxpayers who had successfully activated their Coretax accounts reached 19,502,020.

This impressive uptake includes 18,264,418 individual taxpayers, 1,145,478 corporate entities, 91,891 government agencies, and 233 taxpayers registered under the Trading Through Electronic Systems (PMSE) category.
