The announcement was delivered by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi during a press conference held at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday evening, June 2, 2026. “Today, the President has made the decision to reshuffle the leadership of the National Nutrition Agency,” Prasetyo stated.

The restructuring also includes the removal of the agency’s two deputy heads, Police Brigadier General Sony Sonjaya and retired Major General Lodewyk Pusung. This significant leadership change signals a new direction for the institution responsible for managing national nutritional programs.

To succeed Dadan Hindayana, President Prabowo has appointed Nanik S. Deyang, who previously served as the Deputy Head of the BGN, to lead the agency. Additionally, Agustina Arumsari and Major General Trenggono have been selected to serve as the new Deputy Heads of the BGN.

Who is Nanik S. Deyang?

Born in Madiun, East Java, on January 3, 1968, Nanik Sudaryati Deyang brings a diverse background to her new role. Before entering the political sphere, she established her career as a journalist, beginning her professional journey with Tabloid Bangkit.

Nanik has been deeply involved in government efforts to improve public welfare. On September 17, 2025, she was appointed as the Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency, a role she assumed while stepping down from her position as the First Deputy at the Agency for the Acceleration of Poverty Alleviation.

This leadership overhaul follows ongoing public and media scrutiny regarding the agency’s operations. Key developments surrounding the National Nutrition Agency that remain under observation include:

  • Reports filed with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding alleged corruption in the halal certification process for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.
  • Recent investigations into the first year of the MBG program, which highlighted that over a hundred partner foundations are reportedly affiliated with individuals close to government officials.
  • Ongoing discussions regarding the expansion of the National Nutrition Agency into an increasingly powerful and influential government institution.
