Bareskrim Police to Forcibly Bring In Influencer ZNM Over Whipping Case

The Indonesian National Police’s Drug Investigation Directorate (Bareskrim Polri) has announced plans to forcibly bring in an influencer identified by the initials ZNM. The decision comes after the influencer repeatedly failed to appear for questioning regarding the ongoing investigation into the illegal production of Whip Pink, a brand of nitrous oxide—commonly known as laughing gas.

Whip Pink is marketed as small canisters containing nitrous oxide (N2O). Beyond ZNM, authorities are also escalating measures against two other individuals, identified as APG and RV, who similarly ignored official summons without providing a valid justification.

“Regarding RV, APG, and ZNM, who have consistently failed to comply with our summons, investigators will issue a warrant to bring the witnesses in for questioning,” stated Senior Commissioner Zulkarnain Harahap, Head of Sub-Directorate III of the Bareskrim Polri Drug Investigation Directorate, during a press briefing in Jakarta on Friday (May 29).

While these three individuals have avoided investigators, two other witnesses have cooperated with the authorities. Zulkarnain confirmed that witness CD appeared for questioning on May 22, while witness AM fulfilled their summons this past Friday.

The police initially summoned five people—RV (29, North Jakarta), AM (29, Tangerang), CD (29, Jakarta), APG (21, Makassar), and ZNM (20, Makassar)—to determine their involvement in the alleged misuse of Whip Pink products. This inquiry serves as a critical step in the broader crackdown on the illicit distribution of the substance.

The investigation traces back to April 2026, when Bareskrim Polri successfully dismantled a clandestine factory in Jakarta responsible for manufacturing Whip Pink canisters. Interrogations of nine previously arrested suspects revealed that the manufacturer, PT SSS, operated without the necessary legal permits or the required BPOM distribution licenses for producing and selling nitrous oxide.

The investigation further uncovered that the production and distribution network was managed by individuals identified as AH, SC, and JH. Their operations were extensive, with 16 identified warehouses spread across 10 cities, spanning from Jakarta and Yogyakarta to Lombok.

Summary

The Indonesian National Police’s Bareskrim division is set to issue warrants to forcibly bring in three individuals, including an influencer identified as ZNM, following their repeated failure to respond to official summons. These witnesses are being sought in connection with an investigation into the illegal production and distribution of Whip Pink, a brand of nitrous oxide or laughing gas. While two other witnesses have cooperated with authorities, investigators are intensifying their efforts to secure testimonies from the remaining three suspects.

The investigation originated from a 2026 crackdown on a clandestine factory operated by PT SSS, which manufactured nitrous oxide canisters without proper legal permits or health licenses. Authorities uncovered an extensive illicit network spanning 16 warehouses across 10 cities, managed by suspects previously identified as AH, SC, and JH. This police action marks a critical step in dismantling the illegal supply chain of the potentially dangerous substance.
