The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance has reported a significant milestone in tax compliance, recording 13.45 million Annual Income Tax (PPh) Return (SPT) filings as of May 28, 2026. This update was officially confirmed by Inge Diana Rismawanti, the Director of Counseling, Services, and Public Relations at the DJP.
According to reports, the total number of processed filings reached 13,454,021 by the end of May. Breaking down the figures, individual taxpayers accounted for the largest share, with 10,945,113 total filings. Within this category, 1,498,213 individual non-employee taxpayers have successfully completed their obligations.
Corporate tax compliance also showed notable figures. The DJP registered 972,144 corporate tax returns denominated in rupiah, alongside 1,609 corporate returns filed in US dollars. The data also highlighted specific sectors, including the oil and gas industry, which submitted 17 returns in rupiah and 257 in US dollars, covering the fiscal period of January to December 2025.
For entities operating on non-calendar fiscal years—a period that commenced on August 1, 2025—the tax office recorded 36,625 corporate filings in rupiah and 43 in US dollars. These figures reflect the ongoing commitment of businesses to meeting their annual tax responsibilities within their respective reporting cycles.
Beyond individual and corporate filings, the DJP has made significant strides in digital transformation. The activation of the Coretax system has reached 19,468,429 accounts. This digital ecosystem comprises 18,237,049 individual taxpayers, 1,139,276 corporate entities, 91,871 government agencies, and 233 taxpayers involved in Trade Through Electronic Systems (PMSE).
To support taxpayers during this cycle, the Directorate General of Taxes has granted a reporting extension for corporate taxpayers until May 31, 2026. Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto explained that this policy was implemented to provide taxpayers with additional time and clarity. The extension is designed to assist businesses in ensuring the accuracy of their financial data, completing administrative requirements, and finalizing tax calculations with precision.
