Taufiq Kurniawan, Area Manager Communication, Relations, & CSR for Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Central Java Region, elaborated that this enhanced supply is being facilitated through two distinct distribution mechanisms. The first involves a substantial “facultative distribution” of 1,048,440 cylinders, specifically scheduled for May 27, 2026. This particular scheme represents an additional allocation beyond the regular weekday distribution schedule, specifically designed to address holiday-driven demand.
“We are ensuring that this additional supply of 3-kilogram LPG will maintain robust stock reliability at the base level, thereby alleviating any public concern regarding LPG availability throughout the Idul Adha period,” Kurniawan assured reporters on Monday, May 25, 2026.
Complementing the facultative distribution, Pertamina is also implementing an “extra dropping” mechanism. This involves an additional 519,220 cylinders being distributed during the fourth week of May 2026. This strategy effectively increases the daily distribution volume above standard levels, further strengthening stock reserves at various base points across the regions.
According to Kurniawan, the total additional cylinders are allocated with 1,087,860 units designated for Central Java and 479,800 units for the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Pertamina hopes these concerted efforts will ensure comfort and convenience for the community as they observe Idul Adha rituals and enjoy the extended holiday break.
Pertamina notes that household LPG consumption typically sees a significant uptick during Idul Adha. This surge is primarily attributed to increased cooking activities on a larger scale, both within individual families and community gatherings, as part of the festive traditions.
“We also strongly urge members of the community who are financially capable to opt for non-subsidized LPG products, such as Bright Gas in 5.5-kilogram and 12-kilogram sizes. This practice helps ensure that the distribution of subsidized LPG remains precisely targeted to those who truly need it,” he emphasized.
