President Prabowo Subianto has officially removed Dadan Hindayana from his position as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). This significant leadership shake-up also includes the dismissal of two Deputy Heads of the BGN, namely retired Police Inspector General Sony Sonjaya and retired Lieutenant General Lodewijk Pusung.
Following the restructuring, Nanik S. Deyang, who previously served as the Deputy Head for Public Communication and Investigation, has been appointed to lead the agency. The two new Deputy Heads joining the leadership team are Agustina Arumsari and Major General Trenggono. Agustina Arumsari brings a strong background in oversight, having previously served as the Deputy Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), while Major General Trenggono previously held the position of Deputy President Director at PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara.
The announcement was made by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi during a press briefing at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (2/6), which was broadcast via the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel. “There is a vital need for strong governance, effective coordination, and leadership that can ensure programs are both precisely targeted and delivered on time,” Prasetyo stated while reading the decree regarding the leadership changes.
According to Prasetyo, President Prabowo reached this decision after a thorough 1.5-year evaluation of the agency’s operations. The President’s assessment factored in direct monitoring results and valuable feedback from both the general public and the primary beneficiaries of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program. This decisive move underscores the administration’s commitment to optimizing agency performance to better serve the nation’s nutritional needs.
