Diesel Prices Drop at Pertamina, BP, and Shell Stations

PT Pertamina (Persero) has officially announced a reduction in the prices of its non-subsidized diesel fuels, including Pertamina Dex and Dexlite, effective June 1, 2026. This downward adjustment brings some relief to motorists following fluctuations in global energy markets.

According to the official Pertamina website as reported by Antara, the price adjustments are reflected across various regions, including the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek). Specifically, the price of Dexlite (CN 51) has been lowered to Rp 23,000 per liter from its May 2026 price of Rp 26,000. Similarly, Pertamina Dex (CN 53) saw a significant decrease, dropping from Rp 27,900 per liter to Rp 24,800 per liter.

While diesel prices have trended downward, the cost of Pertamax Turbo (RON 98) has moved in the opposite direction, increasing to Rp 20,750 per liter compared to the previous month’s rate of Rp 19,900. Meanwhile, prices for Pertamax (RON 92) and Pertamax Green (RON 95) remain steady at Rp 12,300 and Rp 12,900 per liter, respectively—a price point maintained since March, prior to the escalation of the conflict between the United States-Israel and Iran. Subsidized fuel options remain unaffected, with Pertalite holding at Rp 10,000 per liter and Biosolar at Rp 6,800 per liter.

Private fuel retailers have followed suit with similar adjustments. BP Indonesia has reduced the price of its BP Ultimate Diesel, which dropped from Rp 29,890 per liter in May to Rp 25,060 per liter this June. Other BP products, such as BP Ultimate and BP 92, remain stable at Rp 12,930 and Rp 12,390 per liter, respectively.

Shell Indonesia has also adjusted its pricing strategy for diesel. Effective June 1, 2026, the price of Shell V-Power Diesel in regions including Jakarta, Banten, West Java, and East Java decreased to Rp 24,490 per liter from the previous month’s high of Rp 30,890. Management noted that Shell’s diesel pricing remains closely tied to global oil market fluctuations driven by the ongoing geopolitical tensions involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran. Notably, prices at Shell stations had surged from a low of Rp 14,620 per liter on March 1, 2026, to the May peak before the current correction. As of June 2026, products including Shell Super, Shell V-Power, and Shell V-Power Nitro+ remain unavailable.

Summary

Starting June 1, 2026, Pertamina, BP, and Shell have implemented significant price reductions for non-subsidized diesel fuels in response to shifting global energy markets. Pertamina lowered its Dexlite and Pertamina Dex rates, while private retailers BP and Shell similarly decreased the costs of their respective diesel products. These adjustments offer relief to motorists following previous peaks in fuel prices.

While diesel costs have trended downward, the price of Pertamax Turbo increased, and other gasoline variants like Pertamax and Pertamax Green remained stable. Subsidized fuels, specifically Pertalite and Biosolar, continue to be sold at their established rates. Despite these changes, some high-performance gasoline products from certain retailers remain currently unavailable.
